Cabrini Movie
I am writing to you today with a slightly different type of update. For all of us, what drives us to invest and build wealth is not simply accumulating more, but rather it’s what we can do with our wealth. We work with each of our clients to build the financial support for their lives that allows them the freedom to live into the dreams they have for themselves. For many, those dreams include leaving a legacy of supporting those they care about and causes that are important to them that affect society. Monies invested in our L.O.R.D.S. Fidelity Strategy over the last 39 years have doubled every 5 years on average. Many of our clients will have far more money than they need.
Recently, I saw the movie “Cabrini“, which told the story of Mother Cabrini, who became a Saint in the U.S., whose dream it was to create an “empire of hope”. In pursuit of this dream of over 34 years, 67 hospitals, orphanages and schools were established to help immigrants and orphans across the world. I am not catholic and I found this movie to be excellently done and very inspirational. I highly recommend going to see it, as we can all use some inspiration and motivation in our lives.
Last week, through an associate of mine, Victor Gagliardi, I was fortunate to meet Patricia Krasnausky, the CEO of Saint Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry, NY. In her words, “At Cabrini of Westchester, we have been both delighted and excited about the movie, Cabrini, that opened on March 8th throughout the United States and other nations! We take our name from St. Cabrini who obtained the land on which we reside in 1914. Since then, the campus has housed, cared for, and educated orphans and other children until it was replaced with St. Cabrini Nursing Home in 1973. We celebrated our 50 years of service to elders last year with gratitude for all those who have been part of our history. Today we care for more than 300 elders by providing long term care, sub-acute and post hospital services, and rehabilitation, as well as palliative care and hospice. St. Cabrini, or Mother Cabrini as we prefer to call her, is known as the patron of immigrants and in her spirit Cabrini of Westchester operates a store front outreach in Dobbs Ferry which provides a full menu of services to new immigrants in the Rivertowns.”
Please go see this movie and, if you feel moved, please generously donate to St. Cabrini Nursing Home by sending me a check which will be delivered directly to Pat Krasnausky. As always, I am available if you have any questions about your investments.
